Shabby Pink and Lilly!!
Can you believe summer is coming to an end.....we went to Market and got some new and amazing things, then went straight to Seabrook for a family vacation! AMAZING!!!!! It was a great time to reflect on the things I love the most and what makes me truly happy and at peace.... the sound of the waves, the smell of the salty air, seafood, and just plain hanging with my some of my favorite people.( Not all where there :()
So.... I am really loving the beach motif, and the color PINK!! Anyone who knows me knows I do not wear pink.. BUT I am becoming a Lilly Pulitzer Lover(again). Especially the vintage Lilly..so my new mission on Ebay is finding vintage Lilly!!! I think you will see a reflection of this in the NEW items we got at Market. Of course, Audrey Hepburn is still my #1 gal, and pearls and patent leather are always a must.
Just a few pics of the Lilly Store at Seabrook Island..

World Autism Day
April 2nd is World Autism Day. On Friday April 1st, we are encouraging everyone to wear blue in honor of the families and children affected by Autism.
It is estimated 1 in every 110 children has Autism. My son Trey is one of the 110, diagnosed at the age of 2 1/2. He is now 7. We are so thankful for all the support through intervention and prayers.
While he continues to have challanges, we embrace them and love him more everyday. He has taught me and for that I am grateful. What an honor to have been chosen as his mother.
I encourage everyone to learn the signs of Autism and educate yourself about our precious children, they are a gift.
Please visit http://www.autismspeaks.org/about_us.php for more information!!!
If I could snap my fingers and be nonautistic, I would not - because then I wouldn't be me. Autism is part of who I am." --Temple Grandin

Thinking of you
My heart has been thinking of you , Japan.
Everyday I receive a prayer and devotion for the day through Children of Destiny(http://www.childrenofdestiny.org/). Their mission is " dedicated to bringing God’s hope, life, and restoration to families and individuals struggling with autism and related disorders through the development and promotion of effective prayer, inspirational messages, and spiritual support".
That mission has helped me in my darkest days, when one word or prayer has given me strength.
My son has Autism and I often think what would happen if a catastrophic event happened here on our own soil...would I be able to handle it and him at the same time. How would I be able to help him understand all that is going on.
On March 16th I was sent a devotion to pray for the Japanese families dealing with Autism who have been intensely impacted by the recent events. I remember just staring at my computer as my thoughts raced, I was also embarrassed...that I had forgotten that Autism is not just in my own home or just in my country, but everywhere.
Per Children of Destiny "Autism rates in Japan are on a par with the United States and United Kingdom and untold numbers of these families are suffering profoundly."
I would like to share that prayer and ask that you do to....
Prayer:
Dear Lord,
It is almost impossible to imagine the suffering the Japanese people are facing in this dark time. Particularly those whose challenges are compounded by trying to care for a loved one with autism. But, God, even in the darkest of times you can shine your rays of light and work great miracles for those in need. So we boldly ask, arise, Lord! Lift up your hand in the lives of these desperate families. Do not forget the helpless. We ask for miracles to meet their basic needs of food, shelter, medicine, and warmth. We ask that you would bring stability and hope in the midst of shaking and trauma. Help the parents and caregivers to have an extra measure of grace and understanding as they help those for whom they are caring. Help the individuals who have autism who are so confused and overwhelmed by the sudden and total changes they are facing. We ask that you would bring calm to their minds, and that you would speak comfort and hope in the depths of their spirits where autism cannot touch. As your word says, "0 You, who made me stare trouble in the face, turn me around; now let me look life in the face. I've been to the bottom; bring me up" (Ps 71:20-21, The Message). We pray that by your grace and mercy, those who have seen such death and destruction would look life in the face; the life, hope and salvation that only you can offer.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
Psalm 10:12
Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God.
Do not forget the helpless.
Sincerely,

AUDREY~
I am a ABSOLUTE Audrey Hepburn fan, I just love her spirit and her style. I was out yesterday having a "ME and My Mom" day, and ran across this book..
"Just Being Audrey" by Margaret Cardillo. I had to have!!! I am in love...the illustrations are incredible!!!
She was a dancer, just like me, a mother of two boys, just like me! The only thing missing was I don't have her beautiful looks...but that's OK, OOO and I am not an actress...maybe a "drama queen" as my family would say. BUT that is way different...among other things I am missing... a girl can dream.
Of course I read the book, in one day. I was so struck by her genuine kindness to others and the grace she exemplified throughout her life.
I loved and admired my Olive( grandmother) more than anything, but O Audrey, you are right behind her..
One message I want to pass along in all this is kindness, be kind to one another. As simple as that sounds, we forget so often.
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32
"Every Child has the right to health,to tenderness, to life"
